I bought a box of Warlord ECW Pike and Shot on Saturday at Area 51 hobby shop. I also picked up a Warlord Medium Artillery set. On a lark, I picked up a Xyston 15mm army box to see if I could still paint 15s? Walked out $100 lighter.
I thought that the plastic stuff was going to SAVE me money. Guess not. I've never paid $27.00 for one gun and 4 crew. Total BS. That gun model is going to my collection instead of on the wargame table. Way too expensive for everyday gaming.
Rant over now!

That is a lot more than I'd pay for sure.

I think Plastics will be cheaper over the long term for rank and file. Maybe even for those items that sell a lot across multiple armies /periods(such as wagons, etc.) This is one of the things GW got right, I believe....
ReplyDeleteI'll paint up the plastic infantry over the next few weeks, post them up and let y'all make the call! :) Thanks for your post MiniW.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem is that companies need to figure out how best to fill their frames. Instead of giving you one gun with a bazillion options they could have given you a couple of guns with very basic crew and accessories.
